Virtual Counseling Center Appointments
The Drake University Counseling Center is a free resource for all Drake students. The counseling center offers brief individual therapy, group therapy, training, and outreach, and can help with referrals for specialty services in the community. During orientation, students and their families can make an appointment to talk with counseling center staff about our services, resources, and to ask questions about how the transition to college can impact a student's mental health. You may want to make an appointment with counseling center staff if:
You would like to learn more about the resources and supports offered through the counseling center.
You have previously seen a therapist and want to continue to meet with a therapist once coming to Drake University.
Would like a referral for a therapist or psychiatrist in the Des Moines area.
Have questions about mental health medication management while in college.
Have other general questions about mental health services at Drake University and in the Des Moines area.
